Blackwell Oblique Holder
A remarkably simple design that holds most pen points for
Spencerian and copperplate. Finely crafted wood holder with a sturdy brass oblique arm. This penholder is designed to hold the nib at a less steep slant angle for ease of upstrokes. Also available with a plastic holder. Works with crowquill, Brause 66ef and almost all other nibs.
(Works with most all nibs except the very largest vintage nibs. Earlier holders did not work with the crowquill because the screw was too short. You may request a longer screw which fixes the problem. There is no charge for the longer screw if you have an older holder.)

Black plastic hourglass penholder with the same brass flange for holding the nibs. The brass work is not as finely finished, but is just as functional. Works with crowquill, Brause 66ef and almost all other nibs.

Oblique Plastic Pen Holder. Smooth black plastic holder with a bent brass flange and an hourglass shaped grip area. With flatter pen to paper angle so your nib will catch less on the upstroke. Similar to the Peerless Oblique Penholder.
Specify Size: 303 or Nikko G. (Like all similar holders, the flange can be adjusted for additional nib sizes. If you would like holders for a class adjusted for a different nib, let us know and we will add the size to our inventory.)

H23. Hunt Oblique Penholder
Speedball Oblique Pen holder
Black plastic hourglass shape penholder with offset for nib. For copperplate and Spencerian. The offset helps righthanders with the letter slant. Most lefthanders use a straight holder not this oblique holder. However, some use an oblique holder.
These pointed nibs work in this holder: Hunt 22, Hunt 56, Hunt 99, Hunt 100, Hunt 101, Hunt 103, Hunt 104,
Gillott 170, Gillott 303, Gillott 404, Gillott 1950
Hiro 700, Esterbrook 354, Brause Rose Nib.
The Nikko G nib will work okay, but the holder is not ideal for this nib.
Gillott 659 does NOT work with this holder; use H75 (Gillott Holder #51) instead.

H94. Crowquill Oblique Holder
Now there is a lightweight plastic oblique holder for the nibs with cylindrical ends. A penman has modified Speedball Black Plastic Oblique Holders for the Gillott 659, the Hunt 108 and the increasingly popular Brause 515. The holder holds the pen point at a shallower angle to the paper to make upstrokes easier. Specify the size(s) you want: 659, 108, 515.
