is meant to be a contemplative experience that takes
the reader out of the everyday world and into a state
of gratitude and reverence. The CD-ROM contains a
slide show of 35 of the Spirit Books, powerpoint

DVD20. Anthony Cains: Decorative Leather Technique
Anthony Cains :A Decorative Leather Covering Technique
125 minutes. DVD.
Thoroughly demonstrates his technique of moulding and manipulating the leather during the covering process to produce a more or less spontaneous design statement. Probably the best known example of Cains's work using this technique is illustrated in Philip Smiths book New Directions in Bookbinding (1974) and again in Eric Burdett's The Craft of Bookbinding; A Practical Handbook (1975).
This is a demonstration from the Bookbinding 2000 conference. It starts with an introduction of Anthony Cains and then he speaks for a few minutes.
As for the book demonstrating:
The book he is covering is already bound with boards attached. He shows step by step how to cover the boards with leather and shows attaching the endpapers. But he does not show the sewing and binding techniques used. The book does have raised cords but I do not recognize the actual stitch used.
