GOTH on Cloth Materials List
Letters California Style IV (Feb. 13-16, 2009)
- Two yards of smooth unprimed canvas- 7 ounce or what you can find-100% cotton 7 1/2 by 8 1/2 inches. I also like drill cloth (available at JoAnns for $4.29 a yard at this writing)
- Lightweight sheer material , a yard or two-cut into strips that are 8 1/2 inches wide-this will be the background fabric for your pages
- Fabric paints you already have
- FW, Liquitex Acrylic Ink and/or Pearlescent Acrylic Inks, a couple colors
- Old Brushes-hairy, flat (1-3 in.wide), pointed watercolor (sizes 2,3 & 8 round pointed watercolor or similar sizes would work well), house painting (1 in., 1-1/2 in. or 2 in. would be good)
- Pigma Micron markers, Pitt pens (the pointed ones. Pigma Micron Pens and Pitt Artist Pens are similar), Sharpies (Colors are nice. Lisa likes the Fine Point Sharpies and the White Poster Paint Sharpies), and /or gel pens if you have them
- Flat Brush, 1/4 inch or a little bigger and Smaller pointed brush (don't spend a lot on these)
- Small Spray bottle
- Favorite calligraphy pen nibs and holders you may have, various sizes
- Some graph paper
- Ruler
- Purple disappearing ink pen
- Zig Calligraphy marker (the chisel edged ones, Black and/or colored)
- Plastic palette-6 well
- Fabric Scissors, Ruler (18 in. would be a good size for the ruler)
- Trim, tassels, miscellaneous fabric stuff (a small amount)
- Paper towels, apron, and 2 water cups
- Your theme-should be 'you-based'...Look for quotes that inspire you to create-or write some lines about your creative life
- Smaller mementos, symbols, charms, stamps, beads and amulets that speak to a certain memory -to celebrate your tribute and your secret art self
- Iron ...if you drive!
Materials Fee: $10.00--I will provide some acrylic inks to sample, metallic powders, Gesso, and much etc.

These non-metallic fabric paints cover dark surfaces with a light application; they are more subtle on light surfaces. You can mix Neopaques with themselves and with Lumiere color. The colors spread smoothly and stay flexible. Perfect for fabric and leather but also works well on paper, photos, wood, shrink plastic and even Styrofoam. Neopaque may be painted, stenciled, screen printed, airbrushed (when diluted) and stamped. They may also be added to Lumiere to produce an antique effect. Recommended by Lisa Engelbrecht for her fabric projects. Lisa especially likes Magenta and White. 2.25oz.

32 gorgeous metallic, pearlescent, halo & hi-lite colors for fabric and leather. They spread smoothly and stay flexible. Opaque and bright even on dark backgrounds, their high pigmentation provides excellent coverage. The hi-lite colors are best on dark backgrounds. FW Acrylic Artist Ink. 38 colors. For dip pen, brush, and technical pens (but not fountain pens). Pigmented, water-resistant. Lightfastness: either 3 (permanent) or 4 ( highly permanent) star rating. Fully intermixable. Can be thinned (with water) for washes which dry water-resistant and additional painting or lettering can be done on top without bleeding or intermixing of colors. In addition to paper & board, will bond to glass, leather, ceramic & wood.

FW Pearlescent Acrylic Ink. 22 colors. For brush, dip & ruling pens. For dip pens, may need to thin with alcohol and you may also want to bend the reservoir to all more ink to flow. Pigmented, water-resistant. Lightfastness: either 3 (permanent) or 4 ( highly permanent) star rating. Fully intermixable. These shimmering pigments seem to work best when put down freely rather than built up with successive layers. In addition to paper & board, will bond to glass, leather, ceramic & wood.

I101. Liquitex Acrylic Ink
Liquitex Acrylic Ink. 30ml bottle.
30 colors. Super fine pigments suspended in a state-of-the-art acrylic emulsion. Like all acrylics, they dry more quickly than traditional calligraphy inks. When dry, they are waterproof for calligraphy applications. Lightfast rating given for each color. Free flowing, no need to dilute for calligraphy, except the Iridescents (metallics) which you can thin with alcohol. Because they are pigmented ink, you will find some colors are superior in a pen than others.
As with all acrylic inks, use pen cleaner or ammonia in water to clean your pens.

BR24. Raphael Kaerell Flat Brush
