N93. Hunt 22B Nib
22-B Extra Fine
Good flexibility - not too flexible, not too stiff (but stiffer than Gillott 303). Very thin hairlines and good swells. Works for scripts 3/16"-1/16". Sharp point (but not as sharp as the 303), but will work on slightly textured surfaces. Tends to catch on upstrokes. Satisfactory for Spencerian Script.

N74. Gillott 404 Nib
A popular nib. Fairly stiff nib, suitable for writing at x-heights from 3/16" to 1/4", on all surfaces from smooth to textured. Good choice for beginners (or those with a heavy hand.) Because they require more pressure to create the swells, stiffer nibs are easier to control. Thicker hairlines than others, making it a good choice for work for reproduction.
Recommended by Eleanor Winters in her Mastering Copperplate Calligraphy (B1109) for beginners and professionals because they "provide fine line quality without being too fragile." Satisfactory for Spencerian Script.

N79. Hunt 108 Nib (Crowquill)
N79. Hunt 108
Bronze finish quill pen for cross-hatching, flourishing and
lithography.
""The #108 can produce super fine hairlines, and also nice wide shades with light pressure. It also has a surprisingly large ink holding ability and isn't as scratchy as some other superfine nibs. It works best on very smooth paper. Now that there is an inexpensive oblique holder for the #108 that holds the nib at a lower angle to the writing surface to reduce scratchiness, perhaps more people will try the nib." ." Dave G., CA
(H67. Hunt #102 Crowquill Holder works for the Hunt 108 as well as the Hunt 102.
H94. Crowqull Oblique Holder comes in a size for the Hunt 108.
Both holders are inexpensive.).
