This instructional DVD for beginning and intermediate collage artists covers both techniques and composition. Jacqueline demonstrates her intricate, many layered painting and then gives you instruction on the proper way to layer tissue, cheesecloth and aluminum and which acrylic medium to use for each texture. There are now a wide range of acrylic mediums and Jacqueline clearly explains the differences. The viewer is instructed on how to refine these techniques, document them, and utilize them within the context of sound composition. The challenge is always to create and refine. She explains why and how she makes adjustments for a superior composition. With this art instruction video you will learn to be artistically courageous - to find your own unique style and techniques. She opens up the unlimited possibilities of collage. The techniques presented can be used to create a painting based on the many materials - a collage - or use them to create a rich under-layment to pictorial elements.
Supplies
Pens: Favorite dip pens.
Ink/Paint: Sumi or your favorite ink; pan watercolors or other watercolor palette that you have. No need to buy anything–some pan watercolors available to share or bring your own palette.
Paper: 2 pieces 22 x 30 cold press watercolor paper.
Brush: 1" Watercolor wash brush of medium quality (Ex. Cheap Joe's Golden Fleece).
Misc..: 2 Water containers the size of a 1 lb. cottage cheese container; Tacky glue; workable matte fixative if you are driving.
