Tools: Chisel-edged flat brush, "stroke" or watercolor "wash" style (Ex. Richeson Series 9010); or 3/8" chisel edged flat brush (Ex. Richeson, Loew-Cornell La Corneille, Simply Simmons flat shader).
Ink/Paint: Tube of black gouache, 2-3 other colors.
Paper: Large 14x17 practice paper with some tooth; 2 sheets good quality art paper (Ex. 140 lb. cold press watercolor paper, printmaking paper, or Canson paper).
Misc: Small plastic palette with round wells; small water mister; other flat brushes you own; water container; glue stick; scissors.
Optional: Watercolors; colored pencils; pointed brush; slant board.

BR24. Raphael Kaerell Flat Brush
These brushes can be used for chisel edged brush writing and watercolor painting. Carl Rohrs finds these water media brushes to be good for lettering. He recommends the W&N 995 (BR01) for ½" & larger. Synthetic bristles.
