French Lace: A Painted Journal
Books and other media
While these two books do not apply directly to this class Jean is teaching, she recommends these two new books on creativity:
2851. The Creative License: Giving Yourself Permission to be the Artist you Truly Are by Danny Gregory. Paper $16.00
This book is hard to resist with its delightful, small, doodlely watercolor sketches. It's written in a light, humorous style. Even more important, the content is good and practical. The book will give you a chuckle or two, and has many little art exercises.
3188. Caffeine for the Creative Mind: 250 Exercises to Wake Up Your Brain by Stefan Mumaw and Wendy Lee Oldfield. 2006. 359 pp. Paper $16.95
"This is a great little book. Many of the "exercises" involve drawing or writing. In addition to the content, I like the book design itself" - Jean
