The thinkers of ancient Egypt, Greece and India saw numbers governing much of what existed in the world around them. They saw this sacred geometry as a way to approach the divine creator, and it can be found in their sculpture and other art. Lawlor sets out the system that determines the dimension and the form of both man-made and natural structures, from Gothic cathedrals to flowers, from music to the human body. He uses exercises and projects to lead you with ease from simple principles to a grasp of the logarithmic spiral, the Golden Proportion, the squaring of the circle, and other ubiquitous ratios and proportions. This book combines geometry, art, and the divine. Full of black and white illustrations. Not for the math adverse.

As it has a tendency to catch on a more textured surface, it is recommended for use on smooth papers and to be handled with an extremely light and sensitive touch. However, this nib is resilient on down strokes springing back into shape if moderate pressure is used. It has a similar feel to the Hunt 100 nib, except that it is larger, more flexible and less fragile than the 100. Suitable for writing at x-heights of 1/8" or less.
