Synthetic brush that is slightly stiffer than sable. Recommended by Lisa Engelbrecht; she especially likes the #8. The secret of the Cotman Bushes, from Winsor & Newton, lies in the fibers. By blending fibers of differing thickness, we achieve the three most important qualities sought by the artist. The thicker fibers contribute strength and spring, while the thinner fibers improve color carrying capacity (which have recently been improved by 50%).
