Ink Sticks

Colored Ink Sticks

IS29. Chinese Ink Stick - Dense Black
A very black inkstick from China. Great for western calligraphy. Stick ink can be used for calligraphy and sumi painting. 1" x 4-3/4" x 3/8" (3.7x11.7x1cm)

In my opinion (and in many others) stick ink is the best ink you can use. I have never yet found a bottled ink that comes near to stick ink, Chinese or Japanese, though western calligraphers tend to prefer Chinese as it is blacker. It is well worth the short time it takes to grind. It can be transferred by pipette to a small container with lid. Don't reserve it for practice, but use it instead of bottled inks for best work too. S.W.
