Pearl Ex

Pearl Ex Powdered Pigments

Pearl Ex Powdered Pigments are incredibly versatile! Mix Pearl Ex into any viscous medium for a metallic/pearlescent effect. Pearl Ex is a safe, inert pigment that exhibits extreme colorfastness and stability.
It has a use for every artist, from watercolorist to calligrapher, faux finisher to rubber stamper.
Pearl Ex creates a metallic effect without being a real metal—it will never tarnish or fade.

Exact measurement Recipe
1 teaspoon Pearl Ex pigment
¼ teaspoon gum Arabic (liquid or powder)
1 teaspoon distilled water
Thinner consistency Pearl Ex ink will lie flatter on the paper when dry; a thicker consistency ink (try ½ teaspoon of water) will stand up a bit on the paper when dry, creating a raised effect. Recipe courtesy of Joi Hunt of Bien Fait Calligraphy.
