Calligraphy & Hand Lettering Contest

From September of 2017 to April of this year, calligraphers have been sending special envelopes to us in North Carolina and to the Seattletters conference address in Washington State. The envelopes all have hand-lettered addresses. Some are simple, elegant presentations in Italic, Copperplate, or another formal hand. Others are elaborate creations that may draw elements from the stamp into the envelope design. While all envelopes have hand lettering, there are envelopes where illustration predominates. There will be a display of the envelopes at Seattletters this summer. Later in the summer, in the next issue of Bound & Lettered (15.4), a hundred or more of the envelopes will be on displayed for the magazine’s subscribers. Individual copies of that issue can be can be ordered below.
