This one-day drawing and lettering design workshop presents a simple and traditional way to create a one-letter or two-letter monogram or personal mark.

Materials to Bring:
Layout or Marker pad 9 x 12" or 11 x 14" or any other layout bond or translucent Vellum with good ink holdout
Tracing paper
Automatic Pencil: .03 HB
HB 2 pencil
White nylon eraser
Clear plastic triangle
Broad edge pen (Speedball series C0, C1, C2, C3, C4, C5)
2 small brushes, between size 00 – 2
Medium Flat brush, or W&N ½ inch Series 995 for designing letters
Watercolors or gouache and mixing palette
Old brush for mixing gouache
Usual drawing kit: small palette, water container, #2 pencil, eraser, blade, T-square, ruler, rags, etc.

A standard letter sized sheet or two of good paper such as Arches 140# Hot Press watercolor or printing papers
such as Rives BFK or Arches Text Wove, for the final monogram.
