Experimental Calligraphy: Cola Pen Writing Instructor: Ann Miller Workshopt: July 9th, 2016 9:30am - 5:30pm A new writing tool opens the imagination and helps you focus on rhythm. Making your own tool does even more, opening a sense of exploration far beyond the confines of habit. Materials to Bring: Drawing paper - 12 x 18 pad or large cut sheets (or similar), (P100) drawing board, (S690) non-waterproof black ink (sumi), (I04, I70) watercolor brushes, (BR28) any watercolor pan set or 1-2 favorite tube colors, (S808, S920) matte medium, broad-edged nibs in a variety of sizes (such as Brause or Speedball), (N02, N09) pencil, (S142) soft eraser, (E09) scissors, ruler or straight-edge, (S270) X-acto knife, (S417) mixing brushes, (BR43) palette, (S744) small water jar, (S260) notebook. Recommended: A sheet or two of Arches 140# Hot Press watercolor (PS47) or printing papers such as Rives BFK(PS91), Arches Text Wove (PS01); these will take moisture and layering well.
