Laurie Doctor

Art Responding to Poetry - 1LD1
Laurie Doctor
All levels
In this class Laurie will show slides of her recent work, including a series of paintings done as a response to Galway Kinnell's poem "Another Night in the Ruins". The tradition of one art form responding to another goes all the way back to Plato and is coined in the Greek word ekphrasis. It is an exciting opportunity to see how calligraphy, poetry and painting work in concert.
Notebook and writing tools. ($0)

No classes at Letters of Joy have required books. These lists include books by or about the instructor, books the instructor recommends as a supplement to the class instruction, and books instructors highly recommend, but are not specific to their class at LOJ.
