Tamara Stonenburner

This workshop provides an introduction to the function of a Quaker marriage certificate, and further explores the technique of designing a creative and aesthetic layout derived from the cues that the content of such a document provides. There will be a discussion of what questions a calligrapher should ask wedding clientele and what other graphic composition elements to consider in really getting to the heart of customizing and personalizing these fascinating heirloom certificates. Different design approaches and problem-solving methods will be covered. This is to be considered a "working and brainstorming" style class accompanied by an interactive discussion. Questions and observations will be openly welcomed and incorporated into the flow of this morning workshop. Do not expect to formally design and execute a finished project. Skill Level: All
