Inland Empire/Pomona Valley chapter, Society for Calligraphy presents:
Round Ronde, A Ronde We Go!

Instructor: Jane Shibata

Meld the past and the present with a seventeenth century French hand called "ronde". Evidence of very clear exemplars indicate that the ronde script was taught in school. Visually, it has some characteristics of the secretary hand and civilité type. It is also a script that can be adapted to a monolinear style for everyday writing. We will be getting up-close and personal with the original version first and then apply some modifications to make the letters contemporary. Some experience with a broad edge nib is recommended.
