Carolingian Minuscules with Christopher Haanes

The Carolingian minuscule is a key script, the predecessor to the ‘Foundational Hand’ (Ramsey Psalter), the point of origin for both italic and antiqua (oldstyle) letters of the Renaissance and a wonderful bookend in its own right. This class is for all levels, although some experience with a broad edged pen is helpful. We will deal with history and practice, with materials, layout and aim at making a finished piece.

The classes are live. They are recorded and will be available for two months after the last session.

Thursdays, January 20th—February 10th, 2022.
20:00—21:30 CET.
152 Euros
Official registration is open!
