Christine Colasurdo

Christine Colasurdo first learned calligraphy at age 12 and started freelancing as a teenager. A Portland native, she earned her double BA in French and English from Portland State University and her MA in English Literature from UC-Berkeley. Her calligraphic artwork has been featured in Letter Arts Review, Bound & Lettered, the Calligrapher's Engagement Calendar and the journal Alphabet as well as at the Oregon State Fair. Her original artworks can be viewed in the San Francisco Public Library's Harrison Collection. She has been teaching since 1996 and has taught at the Multnomah Arts Center since 2011. She is a longtime member of the Friends of Calligraphy as well as the Portland Society for Calligraphy. A published author and poet, she also teaches creative writing at the arts center.
Christine teaches calligraphy at the Multnomah Arts Center in Portland. Each term she focuses on a different historical hand.
