Writing Smaller with Dip Pens

Join the adventure of making your calligraphy beautiful and small. Most of us start our calligraphy learning journey using a larger broad-edged nib such as the 3.8 mm Pilot Parallel Pen. But, we all eventually want to write smaller and dip pens are just the ticket! This class will take you step-by-step to achieve lovely letters in smaller sizes. We will use the Italic hand for studying the process of reducing our letterforms. This process applies to any calligraphic hand. We will test drive several pens, papers, and inks.

This course is appropriate for students who have had a beginner course in calligraphy and are familiar with the Italic hand.

Course meets:

Mondays, 6 - 8 PM Central Time, 6 weeks, Sept 27, 2021 - Nov 1, 2021

Make-up day - 11/8/21 (reserved in case of the unexpected)Each class meeting is recorded and uploaded for paid students to review until Feb 1, 2022
