WATERCOLOR CARD

  • Small size watercolor paint tubes: W&N Permanent Magenta and Ivory Black (other good brands are Daniel Smith and M. Graham; color names might be different in other brands)  (WNWC3)
  • Watercolor round brush size 8 (I am using a Princeton® Velvetouch brush; you can use a different brand, but it should be decent quality and the brush tip should come to a point).
  • Water dish (S1005)
  • Mixing palette with separate wells (S679)
  • Pipette (S141)
  • Paper towel (Viva is a very good brand for the studio) (S817)
  • Board for taping down the paper
  • Artist’s tape (S931)
  • Scissors
  • 140lb Cold press watercolor paper: Two pieces* cut to 5” x 6 7/8” (this size will fit inside a 5 ¼” x 7 ¼” envelope). The second piece is for testing color and to practice working with the watercolors. *Cut extras to have handy in case of mistakes. OR
  • Strathmore® Watercolor Cards (equal to this project size and come with envelopes).
  • Cut a piece of the cold press watercolor paper to 2” x 2”; this piece will be used for creating a stencil
  • Mechanical Pencil (PL21)
  • Eraser (E13)
  • Ruler (S270)
