Fantastic Flourishes with Holly Monroe
Presented by Escribiente: Albuquerque’s Calligraphic Society
May 14-15, 2022
9:00am-4:00pm MDT (8:00am-3:00pm PDT, 11:00am-6:00pm EDT)
LIVE, Online Zoom, Recorded and available for 30 days
To give our Italic a greater “presence” in our designs, we will study the construction of flourishes, breaking them into parts and then learn how to re-create them with pencil first, and then with various strokes of the broad edged pen. Where and when to use them will be discussed, as well as how to add unique embellishments to the flourish. You will be challenged with a project, flourishing in the round – a spiral or circular design incorporating your chosen words, with FANTASTIC FLOURISHES woven around its circumference using fine art tools and materials. Handouts, digital presentation.
