Emphasis on Italics class

Emphasis on Italics, $200.00

Nine week session: January 15, 2022 through March 12, 2022; 10am to 12pm EST

The Italic hand was developed during the Renaissance in Italy by Papal scribe in order to write more quickly. It is a sloping hand with some joins to facilitate speed. Three writing Masters, Arrighi, Taglente, and Palatino produced some of the first writing manuals. We, however, will use the Cantaneo Manuscript of 1545 as our model. The class will culminate in a project piece.

This class is for students with at least facility in one other hand
