The pointed brush is one of the most versatile tools in a calligrapher’s toolbox.

From elegant flourishes to bold, chunky strokes, the pointed brush gives the scribe a myriad of options. Join me as we explore the basic strokes used in the brush hand; how pressure and release affect each stroke; and creative ways to enter and exit each letter.
