Valentine Card & Envelope Workshop

11am -1pm Chicago Time


There are a lot of supplies listed here, but I want you to know that you DO NOT need to have everything. If you only have some markers and paper, you can still make great cards and
envelopes.
I will demonstrate a lot of options, and if you choose to try some after the class, you can order then. Remember, you have access to the videos with no time restriction.


Supply List:
TOOL SUGGESTIONS FOR CALLIGRAPHERS
(You don’t need all of these.)
•Speedball C nibs (sizes 1 or 2) or other broadedged nibs (N09)
•Pointed pen nibs (N154)
• Pointed brush Expensive option: Winsor/Newton Series 7 Pointed Brush (size 2) (BR28) Inexpensive option: a water brush in small or medium pointed tip (BR26)
•Unusual tools like ruling pens, cola pens, broom bristles, crazy tools, etc. (N148) (N211) (N215) 
•Small bottle of sumi ink (I70)
•Small bottle of walnut ink (I153)

•Zig Calligraphy Marker (dual tips) (M06)
•Uni Posca Paint Pen in white and/or other colors (M149)

SUPPLIES FOR ALL
• 6well paint tray (S679)
• Inexpensive flat watercolor brush (between 1/8” and 1/4”a good
size) (BR60)
• 14 x 17 pad of Strathmore drawing paper (something with a bit of texture and NOT coated or slick) for doing practice writing (P100)
• Small box of 10 blank cards and envelopes
• A few pastels (S981)
•A few colored pencils
•Glue stick 
•Some favorite watercolors (whatever you have)
•Metallic or iridescent media to drop into wet ink or paint (optional) 
•Metallic or iridescent dry pigments to sprinkle into wet media (optional) (S1095)
OPTIONAL TO ADD ONTO ENVELOPES AND CARDS
•Vintage stamps, Valentine papers, ephemera, any other kind of embellishments
Household Items
•Water containers and small cups for inks (S1005)
•Cheap mixing brush
•Pencil & ruler
•Roll of paper towels
•Valentine quotes/phrases
•A pair of scissors or an Xacto knife with some new blades, and a cutting surface
