M97. Pentel Sign Pen Brush Tip M97. Pentel Fude Sign Pen Brush Tip Marker
This pen’s brush-like tip is great for quick, fun writing. Linda Schneider uses it for pointed pen scripts such as Copperplate and Spencerian. Grace Song calls it the Pentel Fude Touch Sign Pen and calls it "a great beginner brush pen." Water-based ink.
"...resembles the same calligraphic line as a nib with the pointed pen. The Pentel pen is easy to carry in a purse or pocket, unlike so many other brush markers on the market. Wonderful to practice lettering outside your studio without having to carry your pen, ink, water etc. I am encouraging calligraphers to write anywhere, anytime, anyplace, like at restaurants (a thank-you with the waiter's name on it), anywhere on the go, on location, even on an airplane."
Linda's comments on the new colors:
"I love, love, LOVE the new colors of the Pentel Sign Pen brush marker!!!! I recommend them to anyone interested in pointed pen, whether a beginner or professional, to carry one on them at all times while out of the studio, either to practice or to write notes of thanks."
Linda Schneider, author of Designing Faces, Figures, Florals and More: Contemporary Ornate Pictorial Calligraphy (B3209). These markers will be featured in her forthcoming book Script Lettering and Design: Anywhere, Anytime, and on Anything (B3959).
M06. Zig Waterproof (Pigmented) Marker Zig Waterproof Marker. Pigmented ink. You get two tips on each pen: 2.0mm & 5.0mm. Water-resistant on paper when completely dry: their marks do not feather and bleed when water is dropped onto them, unlike marks made with non-waterproof markers. Now called Memory System Calligraphy Marker.
Comes with two tips of the same color: brush and monoline. The brush tip is fairly large and flexible. A favorite of many lettering artists, these pens are great for blending. The tips self-clean after blending, reducing color contamination. The manufacturer lists these as acid-free, lightfast, and non-waterproof. Certain colors have been discontinued and have low stock; these colors have a discounted price in the dropdown menu.
