This is the first in a series of Design Classes where we will study layout, color, and design theory.

In this class, our focus will be letter flourishes. You've studied and practiced, but how are they successfully added to a piece of text? Our text will be approximately 4-5 lines, and consideration will be paid to phrasing, color choice, size of lettering type and  size of paper, ruling the page, designing and executing the lettering.

Further courses in this series will consider layout of  invitations, menus, and how to prepare, digitize and print. Each course in the series will be independent.

LEVEL -knowledge of classic copperplate letterforms. Brief instruction of flourishes will be included, but the class will be most helpful to students who have knowledge of a variety of these forms.
