Sunflowers and Violets, a Wedge Brush Class
Pat Blair

The class will be two 2-hour sessions on Thursday, June 16 and Friday, June 17, 2022 via Zoom.
Following the class, 30 minutes will be available for review and questions.
You must load Zoom on your computer; please email me if you need help setting this up.

The Triangle (or Wedge) Brush has become my favorite tool for graceful florals because they complement pointed pen work so well. We will begin with a discussion of pigments and how to blend colors freshly on the page, followed by instruction on how to use this tool to achieve graceful leaf and petal shapes in a fresh, spontaneous way. Through a series of exercises, we will explore the feel and technique used to create these shapes. Using the tool in 2 different ways, we will combine the shapes to produce beautiful, bright sunflowers and violets.
