Extremely smooth writing from this pen, offering crisp edges and sharp hairlines. Nib point consists of two parallel metal plates and allows for lettering in two sizes. Use the 0.5mm edge for sharp, monoline writing or use the broad edge for calligraphic writing. You can also produce color-blended letters by touching ink from one pen to a second pen loaded with another color. Available in four sizes, includes one red and one black cartridge and a cleaning bladder.

FP132. Radius-cut Parallel Pen (Modified) FP132. Radius-cut Parallel Pen
(Pilot does not make this pen.)
This pen begins life as a Pilot Parallel Pen. Once our penmaker has worked his magic, the pen is cut to a radius (curved) shape. This allows the pressure on the stroke to effect the ink flow. Great for experimenting and gestural work. The pen works better on paper with a bit of tooth.
(Pilot does not warrant this modified pen, but we do!)
A new modified Pilot Parallel Pen that allows writing Scroll (two lines). Each pen is cut and polished. This pen starts out as the original Parallel Pens (item FP67). Pilot does not warranty this modified pen.
This pen begins life as a 6.0 mm Pilot Parallel Pen. Once our penmaker has worked his magic, the pen is cut to a 45-degree slant/spear edge shape. This allows the pressure on the stroke to affect the ink flow. Great for experimenting and gestural work. The pen works better on paper with a bit of tooth. (Pilot does not warrant this modified pen, but we do!)

Among a range of other papers, Gilbert Bond is highly recommended on page 48 of this book. Unfortunately, manufacturers change papers without notice. While this paper is still great with most all inks, it is not really suitable for the various colors of Pilot Parallel Pen cartridge ink. You should explore the other papers mentioned on that page of the book. The JNB Graph Pads (P21 & P22) also work well with Parallel Pen ink as does the JNB practice pads (P25 & P22). The bonus pack of single sheets is printed on the paper used in these pads.
