Each item is just one book. So when it is gone, that item will be removed.

SD1. Yves Leterme: Litterae
SD1. Yves Leterme: Litterae

Small amount of cosmetic damage to the box. No damge to actual book.

Yves Leterme: Litterae is a unique boxed collection of 24 calligraphic works, finely printed on individual sheets of cover stock, approximately 8-1/4" x 5-7/8". The works are all Latin quotations, each masterfully rendered by Yves in a calligraphically fitting style. The reverse side of each sheet contains the Latin text again along with an English and Dutch translation. The accompanying 36-page book (in English) provides background for the quotes and the calligraphy: Yves is a classical scholar as well as a skilled scribe. The Roman authors, their work, and the chosen quotations are discussed, and Yves provides an account of the creation for each of the 24 calligraphic compositions. Both the works and the small book are full-color and are presented in a stylish gift box.

Alice: A Survey of the Calligraphy of Alice by Jerry Kelly. 2017. 144pp. 8"x11.5". Hardcover

Bottom corners are slightly dented, not shrink wrapped.

Alice Koeth, known professionally simply as Alice, is one of the most respected calligraphers in the world today, though relatively few of her works have been published in book form. The vast majority of her graphic output remains unseen and uncollected. This book, compiled, with Alice's active participation, has over 140 illustrations, showing the depth and breadth of her artistry. Jerry's introduction and Donald Jackson's eloquent appreciation set her work in context. Most works are illustrated in color, many are presented full-page.
Over a career spanning more than 60 years, Alice's artistry exemplifies taste, technique, wit, and her own unique graphic style. A keen understanding of craft, respect for tools, and interest in historical forms have contributed to her command of various calligraphic styles, written with extraordinary skill. Best known are her masterful posters for The Morgan Library from the 60s & 70s, which have been graciously photographed by the Morgan for this book. More of her graphic work was created for a wide assortment of clients—commercial enterprises, publishers, universities, organizations, and individuals.
