Acrylic Fusion –Sunday, October 10, 2021; 11:00-2:00 PDT; $55

Description: In this workshop, you will learn to create colorful, textured backgrounds for your art or calligraphy with several acrylic techniques:  paste paper sgraffito and frottage, application of alcohol inks and various ways to create texture.  You will receive an instructional booklet that will also hold your samples.  No art experience necessary.


  • One to three colors fluid acrylic and 6 small mixing containers (wide-mouth cups) (I133) (I136-S) (S856)
  • Pad of 9 x 12 (or 11 x 14) 140# watercolor paper (P113)
  • Pad of Arches Text Wove Paper (available from John Neal Books) or one large sheet, cut into 6 x 10 pieces (PS01) (PS00) (PA03)
  • Large brush (at least 1” wide), or foam brush (1” or 2”) (BR01)
  • Small tub of standard wallpaper paste (available from most hardware stores)
  • Alcohol inks (e.g., Tim Holtz, Jacquard Pinata or Ranger)—2 or 3 colors
  • Spray isopropyl alcohol (available at major pharmacies)
  • Plastic wrap
  • White tissue paper
  • Paper towels
  • Plastic mats for work surface (“chopping mats” from Dollar Tree)
  • Golden Fluid Acrylics  (I133)
  • Watercolor paper  (PA26)
  • Arches Text Wove paper (PA03)
  • 6-well palette   (S679)
