S1075. Vellum Seconds.
Manuscript vellum has a white or nearly white surface, but some skins produce vellum with irregular coloration: an off-white cast to the entire sheet, areas of differing shades of light brown, or both. We call these Vellum Seconds because they are not white. Other than that, the surface quality is the same as our Manuscript Vellum, and it is prepared for writing on one side. For certain artworks the coloration can add to the interest of the piece or give it an aged look. And it is less expensive.
For first quality vellum manuscripts, see item S197.

I will order more.
I’m very impressed with the quality of the seconds. The piece I received is almost as nice as first quality.
