A: There are two blue-finish steel nibs with a round shape and cut-outs: the Hiro 40 and the Brause 361. Both are called Blue Pumpkin. Both have their followers. You could try each to find your favorite of the two.

A: The Brause Steno is very similar to the Hiro #41. The Hiro #41 was in fact styled after the Steno.

Q: Does this nib come with a coating to be removed?

A: The Brause Steno nib comes with a protective coating. It is causing the ink to bead up, which causes flow problems. The coating needs to be removed so that the ink will spread evenly over the nib, allowing the nib to hold more ink, and allowing the ink to flow smoothly off the nib. There are various methods to remove this coating, which are described here: https://www.johnnealbooks.com/prod_detail_list/pointed-nibs

A: The Brause Steno and the Hiro 40 look alike, but they are not the same nib. They are both popular nibs. You are encouraged to try each one and pick a favorite.
