A: All Iron Gall inks are likely to be somewhat acidic and will overtime degrade your nib. Iron Gall inks are permanent because the black component tightly binds with the paper fibers. Since Gall inks are not generally pH neutral, they are not considered archival (archival means the ink/paper will not change over the centuries). For archival works, especially ones subject to light, a carbon-pigment-based ink should be used.
