The workshop will focus on capitals, design and judicious rule breaking. The letters are based on Roman Capitals. They will stretch, crush, join and reshape as needed. Designing a text with renegade, non-traditional Monkey Bar Caps is like playing on monkey bars at the schoolyard: reaching for the next bar, plotting a path forward with a goal of as much connection as possible. The challenge is to maintain legibility while adding interest and communicating something unique about the text. Exercises in layout and design will enable us to fine-tune and idea until it sings. The workshop is open to all.
