Description

"Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be beautiful or believe to be useful."
—William Morris

Whether you choose to use recycled household materials or museum-quality archival supplies, this little gem of a book checks both boxes: something uniquely beautiful for everyday use. And it can be magical, with just a few simple tools and your imagination.

In our workshop, you will enjoy a slide presentation full of ideas and inspiration, followed by a step-by-step demonstration and make-along for one book. Included are detailed explanations of myriad ways to customize plain and not-so-plain papers for covers and liners by using your handwriting, calligraphy, or other art techniques. I will display and discuss a variety of closure options. Together with your finished project, you will take away a plethora of possibilities and resources to ignite your imagination and experience joy in the making for fun and profit.

Funky or sophisticated, playful or all-business, this simple book concept is an excellent make-and-take project, Girls’ night or Scout activity, family fun project, craft fair item, event favor, or holiday gift. Be warned: once you get the hang of it, it's addictive!

No experience necessary.
