These notes, with plenty of tips and diagrams, by Sue Hufton, FSSI, are perfect for calligraphers wanting to create immaculate book constructions. The book includes instructions for a range of books, covers, and other projects: single section books, envelopes, a Japanese binding, a simple sketchbook, covered mounts, cubes and boxes, triptychs, multi-section books, and a coptic binding with wooden boards.
Each copy is handbound and signed on the cover by Sue.

A great book to start simple bookbinding.

Unexpected Treat
I expected this book to be a standard bound softcover edition with instructions on how to make handbound books. Instead I received a hand sewn volume with absolutely luxurious blue-gray paper for a cover, delicate hand lettered title on the cover, and two bonus strips of the cover paper as an added treat. That's even before I started reading the contents. The instructions for book construction are clear and doable for calligraphers whose main focus is NOT book construction, but rather a way to showcase and preserve their work. Thank you for this treat, Ms. Hufton! I'm very happy with this addition to my library!
