Thanks to the clever notch cut into the side of this tool, it is now simple to cut off the corners of book cloth or paper and 1/8" away from the book board, paving the way for perfect mitered corners. It also is 3/4" wide which makes it a n ideal tool to for marking the trim line on book cloth or paper. It is an indispensable 2-in-1 tool, and is sturdy, and you can cut against it safely for excellent results. I'm surprised someone hasn't thought of this sooner.
