Discover the harmony and elegance of Gothic architecture by learning to draw simple yet striking Rose Window designs. In this three-lesson workshop, we’ll explore the geometric foundations of these iconic stained glass windows, focusing on overall layout and composition rather than intricate detail. Each lesson will guide you through the construction of a different rose window, each in a distinct style—such as Rayonnant and Flamboyant. Using only a compass and ruler, you’ll learn to divide the circle, draw fluid Gothic curves with tangent circles, and give visual weight to your lines so the design feels architectural—like carved stone rather than a simple outline. Whether you're a complete beginner or already have some experience with geometry, this workshop is designed to be accessible, meditative, and gently challenging. Please note: the sample images provided are indicative of the styles we’ll explore, but the exact rose designs may vary in the final course.
