Description
S348. Push Drill.
The hollow-point drills cut holes in papers, leathers, and binders board. Pressure on the wooden shaft causes drill to spin and cut hole. Set of 9 interchangeable drills: 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4, 4.5, 5.0 mm. A marvelous tool worth the price. See S370 for replacement drill bits. This is similar to the punch set we used to sell that was made in Japan, but the current one is not made in Japan.

Not just a treat: an essential!
I don't know how I made books for so many years without one of these marvelous tools. (Messily and with more difficulty are the answers.) The ease with which each size bit drills out unwanted material amazes me each time, whether the material is book board, book cloth, leather, or paper. The clean hole allows stitches to lay flat, without twist or tangle, and for lacing to look beautifully organized. I avoided spending the money for this tool and have regretted not acquiring one sooner.

Great Punch
This Japanese punch is well made and well balances (unlike those you will find selling for $12-15.) I have ahd mine for years and while I have had to replace some of the metal punch cutting parts, the punch itself continues to funtion well, punch, after punch, after punch.
