Participants receive a weekly selection of authentic medieval images to create their own line art pattern to explore a myriad of techniques used in medieval manuscript art. Themes include the zodiac signs, anthropomorphic letters, floral letters, specific techniques including diapering, tooling, and of course, shading and painting with gouache.

HG749. Holbein Gouache 15ml, Various colours
Brushes: Must be round and pointed. Cardboard backing & Tape for mounting project paper to while you work.
Project Paper*: PA03. Arches Text Wove 8.5" x 11"
Pigments: Assorted Gouache colors
Water Container & Paper Towel for rinsing brushes and catching drips.
Laser Toner Printer - must accommodate project paper choice. Ink Jet (dye-based) printers will react with water media, smears and is NOT Recommended.
Printing Alternative - Take the supplied pattern and project paper to a self-service toner-based printer/copier at a local office supply store to print the pattern directly on to your paper choice.
Optional but Handy: S4103. Hands free magnifiers
