Join our engaging full day workshop and dive into the intriguing realm of fruit crop science. You'll have the unique chance to learn from scientists about their interesting apple disease research and create your own stunning Scientific Illustration plate. Here's what you'll explore:
Scientific Illustration Techniques: Master the art of crafting a scientific illustration plate that effectively conveys the life cycle of an apple disease.
Stipple Line Ink Technique: Finalize your sketches on hot press watercolor paper using the stipple line ink technique, adding depth and intricacy to your artwork.
Watercolor Wash: Elevate the visual narrative and make your artwork stand out with a simple watercolor wash.
Supplies:
- Micron Pens sizes: 01, 02, 03
- Watercolor brushes Winsor & Newton series 7, (or equivalent artists quality) round point size; 0, 1 and 2
- Mechanical pencil (with extra refillable graphite) or HB pencil
- 2B Pencil
- Small pencil sharpener
- White vinyl eraser
- Clear plastic ruler
- Drafting white paper tape
- Porcelain plate (or watercolor palette of choice)
- Watercolor paints color suggestions: Pyrrol Red, New Gamboge, Lemon Yellow, Burnt Umber, Sap Green, French Ultramarine
- 1 sheet Hot Press watercolor paper-A3 size (roughly 12x16 inches) for final ink. Paper preferred; Arches, Fabriano or equivalent high quality paper
- A3 Sketch paper-heavy enough weight to handle some erasing, a few sheets
- Tracing paper at least 9x12, several sheets
