Drawing Flowers by Family - Understanding Flowers through Quick Drawing, Geometry and Plant Structure with Wendy Hollender

Draw flowers by identifying their geometry and patterns that plants in the same family share. This is one way of unlocking the puzzle of drawing realistic and descriptive flowers. Start with simple geometry and quick sketches to warm up, followed by more detailed drawings of flowers.

Supplies:

• We will work in pencil, neutral colored pencil, and pen.
• graphite pencil H lead is preferred but 2H or HB is fine
• optional Colored Pencil Polychromos Dark Sepia Pencil
• Ball point pen such as Pieni Needle-point Soft 1 or Wooden Hex Ballpoint Pen 0.5mm by Muji- or Micron Pen Black 05 or 01
• Midori Notebook, MD Notebook, Journal, A5, Dot Square- or A Sketch book any kind of smooth paper good for drawing
• Plain drawing paper any kind
