Your Muse Is Not Stuck in Traffic. If you’ve been waiting to feel creative before you make something, try something, or finally trust an idea of your own, you could be waiting a while. Because creativity isn’t something bestowed upon a lucky few by a sparkly little fairy with excellent timing. It’s already there. The Artist’s Way for Calligraphers is a 14-week live creative journey inspired by Julia Cameron’s classic The Artist’s Way, created especially for calligraphers who want to get past the I’m not creative enough, I’m not good enough, and what if I do it wrong? of it all. Together, we’ll explore what happens when you stop waiting for inspiration, loosen perfectionism’s grip and give yourself permission to make things. Messy things. Experimental things. Things that might not work. And, quite possibly, things that are entirely, wonderfully yours. Over 14 weeks, we’ll use the ideas and practices of The Artist’s Way as a jumping-off point for conversation, creative exercises and exploration through the particular lens of calligraphy and lettering. This isn’t about becoming a “better” calligrapher in 14 weeks. It’s about becoming a braver, more curious and more confident creative one.
