A growing garden of pointed pen flourishes is waiting for you in this delightful class. We will use vines, leaves and an expanding variety of wildflowers to embellish our graceful flourishes as we celebrate summer together. True offhand flourishing is peaceful and meditative and the emerging results on the paper have a charm and grace that often surprises the artist. We will explore the strokes that can be augmented with beautiful floral motifs. We will use delicate painting and coloured techniques to enhance the beauty of these thoughtful designs. Pointed Pen flourishes have the amazing ability to develop your freedom, instincts and sense of flow as a calligraphic artist. If you are new to offhand flourishing and have always wanted to try it, you will love this class. All skill levels are welcome!

Your favourite practice paper (P25), McCaffery Black or Brown ink (I37), straight pen holder (H113, H111, H134) with Hunt 22 (N93) or Zebra G nib (N118).

Pencil (PL21, PL38), eraser (E13, E09), paper towel.

Bleed Proof White (I38) with mixing brush (BR02) and water dish (S1695).

Light and mid tone art paper such as 140lb Hot Press Watercolour paper or cardstock cut to 8”x10” sizes (PA110).

Your favourite watercolours (WNWC1, HW100) or watercolour pencils (PL58) with small brush (BR104, BR26) or coloured pencils (PL76, PL28).

Optional embellishment supplies such as Metallic inks (I16, I181), Gilding materials (S760, S892, S189-5), Sakura Gelly Roll Pen Clear Stardust (M96-2) or any sparking embellishments for your flourishes (S3003, M75-SS).
