Description

BP29. Hermann Zapf Calligraphic Broadside.

The broadside contains the words from the Thomas James Cobden Sanderson quote: "The whole duty of Typography, as of Calligraphy, is to communicate to the imagination, without loss by the way the thought or image intended to be communicated by the author." Zapf's Italic calligraphy is printed in a warm black ink on cream-colored stock, with the author's name, in small caps, in an muted aqua blue.

The small prints were supplied to John Neal Books by Mr Zapf, late in the 20th century, and each was signed in pencil by him. 8" x 11-3/8".
