Class Overview - Intermediate

In this class, we will go through a brief history of monograms where I will present periods and styles. We will sketch a handful of monograms, draw script monograms, and draft a more elaborate piece that can be finished in pen and ink or taken from the class to be painted and gilded. Monograms naturally require a certain amount of problem-solving. We will discuss how to plan and build them as well as how to deal with problems that arise in drawing them. You will leave class with the knowledge and confidence to create your own monogrammed designs.
