The great historical penmen knew something we seem to have forgotten. **Your signature matters.**
The masters of the pen were often known by their signatures. Beautifully constructed. Distinctive. Sometimes restrained, sometimes gloriously elaborate, but unmistakably **theirs**.
And then there’s ours. The thing we scribble on the bottom of a receipt while someone waits. It may be time for an upgrade. In this live class, you’ll create a bespoke Spencerian signature built around **your name, your hand and your personality**.
We’ll begin with strong, classic letterforms, then add shading, movement and character. From there, we’ll explore the wonderful stuff: compound curves, sweeping strokes and flourishes that can transform a name into a small piece of art. But you won’t be learning *a* signature.
You’ll be finding **your** signature. One that works with the particular letters of your name. One you can actually use. One with enough personality that when someone sees it again, they know exactly whose hand made it. Elegant. Dramatic. Restrained. Flamboyant.
Perhaps just a tiny bit show-offy. After all, the great penmen got to have magnificent signatures. **Why shouldn’t you?**
