Lots of ideas and inspiration for Parallel Pens!

Posted by Pauline W. on May 27th 2024

This book is a very short read, so I feel like I got it for a decent value. This book did not really have alphabets and exercise drills to practice with like I thought it was going to include. But what it lacked in in-depth lettering instruction, it made up for in the many ideas and inspiration it gave me for fun ways to use my Parallel Pens! It really pushed the boundaries of what can be done with the pens, whether that's using watercolor or acrylic inks safely in the Parallel Pens (which I was surprised could be done, though I feel safer using watercolors over acrylic inks, lol), to turning the barrels of the pens into eyedropper pens to save on getting so many ink cartridges! There's even ideas in the book for writing or drawing with Parallel Pens on fabric—that's right, you can letter or design on t-shirts, if you have the patience and bravery to try this! There are a few alphabets that you can model your writing on, but I think the primary purpose of the book is to show you what you can do with the pens and how to get creative with their use and applications. Overall, it was not the book I was expecting it to be, but it ended up being a useful resource for me, anyways!

I have used Parallel pens for years for some of my Calligraphy pieces, and this book is treasured by me for its hints and tips. Well worth the price and international postage.

I have a parallel pen already, and I learned a few new things from the book. Glad I bought it.
