Paul Antonio - Textualis Quadrata - Sept 20 & 21, 2025

In this Online Zoom Class you will learn how to use a geometric framework to write 'Textualis Quadrata', the basis of the Gothic Scripts. We start off on the Saturday with a monoline form of the script to teach you shape, structure and line movement. this skeletal form also allows you to learn a new script to add to your family of scripts. The Sunday we will take what we learned and apply it using a broad edged tool to it giving us that distinctive script we think of , that quintessentially Middle Ages hand. I have build a completely new handout for this with over 30 pages of info. We will cover two forms of the script, an angular form based on the type used by Gutneberg for the printer bibles and the more rounded forms we come to associate with this family of Gothic Scripts.
